Technion Alumni Community Expands Overseas
The Technion Alumni Organization is expanding its activities and launching a new initiative to connect thousands of alumni worldwide. The organization's international development reflects the growing success of its graduates, who contribute significantly to various fields worldwide
The Technion Alumni Organization is launching a new initiative titled Technion Alumni Go Global aimed at connecting thousands of alumni living worldwide. This initiative will establish local communities in various countries, including the USA, Canada, Germany, Australia, and more. The idea to establish these communities emerged from the need to strengthen Israeli connections that arose since the war began in October.
Technion alumni stand at the forefront of science, research, and technology, responsible for groundbreaking innovation in Israel and worldwide. A recent study showed that Technion graduates led the establishment of unicorns (companies valued at over $1 billion) in the US among graduates of non-American universities.
Among these alumni are Assaf Rappaport, who is currently in talks to sell Wiz to Google for $23 billion, Nadir Izrael and Yevgeny Dibrov, founders of Armis, and others.
Other successful Technion alumni abroad include Dr. Eliad Peretz, the highest-ranking Israeli at NASA, and a senior researcher in the Solar Research Division. Peretz, a graduate of the Faculty of Aerospace Engineering at the Technion, is responsible for identifying scientific challenges and planning breakthrough space missions. Yael Vizel, a breakthrough technology entrepreneur, developed innovative virtual clothing technology. Retail giant Walmart acquired her company, Zeekit. Vizel holds a bachelor's degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the Technion. Dr. Kira Radinsky, founder and CEO of Diagnostic Robotics, develops innovative medical diagnostic technologies. Radinsky is a research fellow at the Technion and holds a doctorate in Computer Science.
The local communities that will be established will define their unique goals and activities over time, with assistance from the Alumni Organization team and volunteer alumni in each region. The organization is preparing to hold regional events and meetings and provide alumni with various services, including professional networking assistance, information about events and activities worldwide, volunteer support, and access to workspaces, resources, and job opportunities. These alumni represent just a small example of the many who excel in their fields and serve as a source of national pride worldwide.
According to Dotan Bar Noy, CEO of the Technion Alumni Organization: "The need arose from the field. Due to the recent war, many Technion alumni living abroad felt the need to strengthen their connection to Israel and the Technion. We saw among them a strong desire for connection and mutual support, and the Alumni Organization can serve as an excellent platform for them."
"The Technion Alumni Organization is an inclusive and supportive hub for all our graduates, regardless of where they live," says Dong. "We invite all alumni living abroad to join the new communities, renew their connection with the Technion and their fellow students, and take an active part in community life."
