“For us and for the investors, the long-term goal is just to make the customer experience better for everyone including our customers and our customers’ customers - the property owners, managers and their tenants,” says DoorLoop Co-Founder David Bitton to CTech at Calcalist and Bank Leumi’s Tech & Invest conference in Miami.
DoorLoop, an Israeli Miami-based startup, has developed a property management software serving U.S. and Canadian markets. They recently raised $100 million from the American investment fund JMI Equity in a Series B round bringing their total total funding to about $130 million.
“It’s hard to raise money in this economic environment with the high interest rates,” says Bitton. “But we were able to do it because the unit economics are good, the market is growing rapidly, and the rental market is booming.”
He says that he didn’t feel that, as an Israeli company, their ability to raise funds or attract investors was hindered. On the contrary, he noted that investors are impressed by the Israeli work ethic. “You’ll never find harder, more resilient workers than Israelis. Horrible things have happened, but the next day they're back to normal, they don’t let it distract them and they just keep going after their goal.”
