Here’s how AI helped CrazyLabs achieve 7 billion downloads
Nir Miretzky, Head of Innovation and AI at CrazyLabs, joined CTech to discuss how AI is impacting the game production process.
“I think today most AI efforts are aimed at the production side and less at the game design or game experience,” explained Nir Miretzky, Head of Innovation and AI at CrazyLabs. “We do experiment a little bit with game elements like the actual game for the users, but it's not mainstream and most games don't use it regularly.”
Miretzky was speaking to CTech at Gaming 2024, hosted by Calcalist and in collaboration with Google and Playtika. The company is one of the top three publishers worldwide focusing on mobile and hyper-casual gaming. According to Miretzky, its games have seen a total of 7 billion downloads.
“To get to this huge crowd, you need to be very international with your games,” he continued. “So language is a problem. We tried to avoid using words or voiceovers because it's hard work to later translate it or localize it to different countries. And today AI makes it very easy. It's very easy to translate the UA, the marketing videos, the Google and Apple stores, and of course the game. So now the game designers and the game producers can take this as an advantage when working on games, working on stories, or new genres that weren't available to hyper-casual games until now.”
