Miami extends warm embrace to Israeli innovation
More than 700 American and Israeli executives from the worlds of technology, venture capital, finance and business participated in the Calcalist and Bank Leumi conference in Miami.

Over 700 senior executives from the worlds of technology, venture capital, finance, and business attended the Calcalist and Bank Leumi conference in Miami. Calcalist publisher Yoel Esteron, who opened the conference, thanked the participants, saying: "At our first conference in Miami, we received a particularly warm welcome from Florida's business community. The huge interest in the conference is proof that Israeli technology and innovation are highly valued and continue to attract a large and supportive audience, even in these challenging times."
Esteron urged American business leaders to invest in Israeli high-tech, which has demonstrated remarkable resilience, especially over the past year as Israel faces a difficult war on multiple fronts. "'We deliver, no matter what' is not just a slogan. High-tech continues to prove its strength and determination to lead the Israeli economy. Investing during these times may yield excellent returns," said Esteron.

The celebratory cocktail event was opened by Noa Tamir, CEO of Calcalist. Tamir acknowledged the current challenges facing Israel, saying: "The challenges our nation is facing today are immense, but I believe that innovation, progress, and unity are not just ideals; they are our responsibility, particularly in times like these. I ask that we all pray for the safe return of the abductees and for the safety of our brave soldiers."
Tamir added: "Florida and Israel share a special bond rooted in common values, such as a drive to create meaningful change in the world. Our communities have found common ground in entrepreneurship, excellence, and a shared commitment to improving the world. Our mission tonight, as always, is not only to build exceptional companies but to create bridges that generate new opportunities for Israeli high-tech and help turn dreams into reality."
Tamir then invited Steven Meiner, the mayor of Miami Beach, to speak. Meiner remarked: "In Miami, we foster technological innovation, but the truth is, Israel does it best. We have much to learn from you. Here in Miami, we work to protect everyone, and we take inspiration from Israel in this regard. Miami sets the standard in America for how to support Israel. We are committed to promoting and supporting any collaboration between Miami and the Israeli high-tech scene."
Maor Elbaz-Starinsky, Israel's consul in Miami, also addressed the audience. He said: "Miami is the best place outside of Israel for Israelis who are passionate about building businesses. We are establishing exemplary companies here—ventures that embody our values and strength, contribute to the world, and forge new alliances."

The evening concluded with remarks from Olympic athlete Peter Paltchik, who noted: "Athletes and entrepreneurs share the values of excellence and perseverance. Our presence here tonight proves that we can overcome challenges and succeed. Together, we win, and we will continue to win."
